The Tape emerged from un unlilely reunion of a Russian student in graphic design and a sound engineer from the 12th district of Paris. The pair showcases a rare and unbounded creativity with a personal yet simple receipe (maybe not so simple in fact). Once the beat is set for the keys to lean on, Ilya comes in with swirling and mindtwirling guitar gimmicks that entertwine with Francisco's groovy basslines. Clever and heady melodies fold around electro-synth-pop convolutions. Lift up the vocal light and luminescent vocal curtain and you find yourself confronted with vintage electronical mechanics driving you up to Nordic cinematographical sensations close to a Nicolas Winding Refn or the likes.

1=0 is one of those unconventional musical acts you always find yourself happy to stumble upon. The kind you'd be happy to encounter more often. At first you get punched in the face, action-comedy like, like a bullet through the neck. Summary gun down of typical French rock, with a cornered smile... 1=0 take things from where they were left by iconic bands like Diabologum and Fugazi and deliver some genuinely raw rock ditties... Yet paying due respect to their elders, they dive head first into to the alternative hip hop regeneration process mixing guitars and words flows... fingers in the plug...

Connect the Machine to the Map is an open door to the modern scene of hip hop music and a collection of artists that would not be or want to be labelled as rappers. They are first and foremost musicians, beatmakers, producers, MCs, or poets, philosophers, writers and they find inspiration and mattress to their lyrics in electro, guitar, noise or folk music. The project's foundation arose from Francisco Esteves' own influences above which he launched the We Are Disco Doom Revenge collective. He had already tied knots with artists around the world for the sake of previous projects, like with Texan Austin's Word Association when the Binary Audio Misfits combo was launched on the ashes of post-rock Franch band called Experience. This compilation reveals tremendous active underground connections all over the globe with beatmakers providing tracks to MCs, with every one or so knowing each other because they met on a track or during gigs and tours and remained in contact. From Bern to San Francisco, from Montréal to London, Tours or Baltimore, through Beirut or Amiens... They self-produce their music, mostly book gigs on their own or through privileged acquaintances sketching a vast map establishing connections within this underground hip hop-electro-shoegaze maze... Then it could easily appear that the feverish DIY spirit -that the most active among them top with compulsive nomadism- found a safe haven for creativity and artistic integrity opportunity there. After many detours and rebounds in the hippy realms, followed by rock'n'roll spirit, and then punk and techno spheres...

Backbone Party can be described as resulting from a sound based violent syndrome, supposedly endemic, so it claims, and transmitting both through direct and indirect exposure to the soundwaves generated by the five musicians, considered as asymptomic hosts. The most common symptoms have been linked to alternative, electro, industrial subtypes among other. Electric assemblage, organic, electronic. Contemporary kaleidoscope, between occident and oriental, between vintage and digital.

Francisco Esteves has been a musician and indy activist for at least 15 years, always keen to broaden horizons and collaborations. This new project We Are Disco Doom Revenge does not deviate from his favored guidelines. Digital and analog, with a prominent need of human interaction describe what Cisco intended to elaborate when he came up with the idea of this WADD Revenge electro-hip-hop-shoegaze project. Things came in place around the end of 2011 when he joined the Occupy International initiative. Then was he overwhelmed with urge to set up a new collective that already accounts a dozen of musicians, beatmakers, producers and photographers. Soon after a record deal was found with Kaometry and the "Connect the Machine to the lips" LP was on tracks, Quixote RPM coming as a managing partner.

Francoise... It all began with killing time, with the simple will to confront the bittersweet feeling that rock music is still worth it. Would they be Parisians ? New Yorkers ? Moscovits ? Maybe it's just one of those good record, you know, the ones you seldom get the chance to listen to. Songs under influence, written and composed on the corner of a Kitchen table, a studio booth, or some ancient 'boudoir'... unexpectedly, caught by surprise, nearly accidental,...
Francoise's Dear reveals a musical verve entwined with savoir-faire. Dear, 'my dear', for your ears only, for your pleasure only... After theirs obviously...

Lumi is one of the most prominent bands of the lebanese underground. Dark and glamour, sharp and groovy, "Two Tears in Water" presents a set of songs whose inventiveness avoids the trap of an easygoing mix of electro and rock with would-be oriental identical-like scents. "Don't F** With my Cat", "When People Say Yeah", "Not our War" and "Banging in the Stars", as many sharp songs on the edge of blowing out dance floors..(more)
The story began between Geneva and San Francisco, cosmopolitan cities as can be, as glimmering as can be but where cultural differences inspire converging destinies. Then wandering through the Big Apple's heart, before absorbing african flavours and choosing Paris as for a residence, Lucky Joy has been flirting with the best of pop music, spoken word an greasy blues as if in search the perfect mix between Beck and Moby... for our bettered pleasure... Just for the sake of "On the road2electro" unfortunately not featured on this first opus...
